They'll have to call both 999 and 911, Laurie! Thanks for the "splaination", AFNH.
I can officially report that votes from multiple computers on the same Internet connection does work. So those of you with a lappie and a desktop that share a connection..go for it! LOL
What is your location? Vermont Comments: AFNH, yes I do
Comments: Laurie - aha - you get the picture! - ***wink***
What is your location? Vermont Comments: Thanks AFNH for the explanation!
Comments: Laurie - it is the equivalent of 911 - usually rung when a really hot pic of the Man is released - bring out those stretchers!
What is your location? GA Comments:
Hi pH and welcome aboard! Since you've been around for a while, there's no need for me to tell you what a great group we have here. I hope you will stick with us and post whenever you can. And keep voting!!!
Ouch! Those are pricey cookies! But they look delicious. Thanks for the link, Ali-Pat. Don't know if I'll ever use it but ya just never know. BTW, can I ask whose picture was on your cookies?
AFNH, I'm curious too.
Also have another question about the voting. Does anyone know if multiple computers on the same Internet connection will count?
What is your location? Vermont Comments: AFNH, I'm curious, what does the number 999 mean for AR UK fans?
What is your location? Indiana Comments: Claudia -- Those Gissing reviews were incredible! It's unbelieveable that the movie has just been sitting on the shelf!Has AR ever said how he felt about that?
Susan (and all you other lucky folks!) -- Have a wonderful time!! Bring back a moment-by-moment report!!
Ali-Pat -- I'm glad that you're up & about again! You must be on the mend. Maybe it was those cookies! Hmmm...was the sender your sweetie?
Voting -- I was #1034, and our man is WAY ahead of the others! Wonder what everyone will say when AR pulls out another big win!
Comments: And WELCOME, pH nice to see Sweden on board!
Comments: I know Sue, I was 999 - a number very familiar to most UK AR fans!
Comments:
It's 1000!!!!
What is your location? sweden Comments: have voted loads of times now! went to the female monthly vote and was stunned to see princess victoria of sweden in second place, that´s so cool. been an lurker forever but just wanted to say great job to cladia for this site!
What is your location? E Yorkshire Comments: 879 already and we haven't been voting a day yet. He's going to win by a country mile at this rate.
Comments:
They are a little pricey, aren't they?
Still, if you
are looking for a small, unique gift for each of your AR friends... Let me
see, at 18 cookies per tin...
What is your location? england Comments: Reported in Daily Mail. Order of the Phoenix begins filming in January
Comments: Ali-Pat, those cookies look great! According to the FAQs on the customer service page, she'll make a cookie with anybody's picture you send her as a jpg. $58.50 per tin though -- were they that tasty?

Wonder if she takes requests?
In all seriousness, these are some mighty fine cookies. I received a Get
Well tin of them and they are truly aiding my recuperation.
Comments: And Imelda Staunton as Dolores? - she'll need some padding, though......
Comments: Oh we know, Claudia, we know! ![]() Look what's happened since I last looked in at lunchtime. Managed to vote from Explorer and Netscape - gonna need a lot of juggling! Hope that Mac guy does turn up a macro, would be handy!
What is your location? GA Comments: Ohh thank you for the tid bit, Gissing's Girl. That's great news.
Good news for HBO subscribers on the GoF front. This from The Leaky Cauldron. HBO's First Look to feature a 15 minute look at the making of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire starting Nov 7
And for those of you that don't get HBO well you know......
Comments: Oh she should be brilliant! When are they starting filming the 5th book? The kids will be at college by then!!
What is your location? UK Comments: Imelda Staunton is to play Professor Dolores Umbridge in The Order Of The Phoenix.
What is your location? GA Comments: Thanks Maria. That helps. I tend to forget even when I'm sitting at the computer.
Also, since you can vote once from each browser, I think I'll set up some macros for each one.
What is your location? GA Comments: I
hope the Mac Maven does come up with something because this process is heaven!
Thank you Maria! Can you tell mine works?
Susan CA, I posted the link for you and later this evening I'll post the link on the top of this page too. Now...get on to the airport. Can't wait to hear from you on the screening tonight!
What is your location? Russia Comments: Claudia: I set the interval to 16 minutes (we can vote every 15 minutes, but I give 1 minute extra). And duration - it depends! If I leave the computer to work overnight - then - some 8 hours, if I go to work and want my home computer to go on voting - then about 12 hours.... But I am at computer - I prefer to vote manually and then remove the schdule. (So that the macros don't interfere with work, besides I am so curious to see myself how the points rise ![]()
Comments: The Mac Maven says Macs need different software, and the only program he could find was $100.00. I will see if he's come up with anything else on Monday. Meanwhile, Claudia, could you make a link to the poll on Suzanne's GB? My attempt was a complete failure... And is it really true that we can vote from every browser every fifteen minutes? Mercy--a lot of browser downloading will be going on. This all makes it hard to leave for the airport and SFGJ, but I'll try to suffer through it!
What is your location? GA Comments: Susan, CA did you ever find out if the Hot Keyboard program was compatible with Macs?
What is your location? GA Comments:
And thanks for the instuctions, Maria. I think I have it set up now. I do have a question though. What do you set the interval and duration to?
What is your location? Russia Comments: CLaudia: with pleasure ![]() So, you open the programm (click on its icon in the tray), choose "Settings" - "Options" - "Hot Key to start a recording" (here you can set your own, or just look up what is by default). Next, open the browser window, press these keys, and record the macro (press keys, or move and click the mouse, as you like). When finished press Ctrl+Break to stop. Then you can assign the name to your macro, and check "Enable mouse events" (if you used them). Also it is convenient to assign an individual hotkey to your macro. That's about all! Test it several times - if it works OK (just in case). When the macro is ready, right-click on the name of the macro and choose "Schedule this macro". Select "Once", select the time to start, click "Advanced" - check "Repeat tast" and set the interval and duration. Enjoy ![]() It takes some time to get used to, but not much! We have a lot of time left ![]() I wanted to post these instructions beforehand, too, but then desided to wait for the real business (and the rise of enthusiasm ))

What is your location? GA Comments: I agree Sue, it is going to be a long hard month. But we can do it!
Maria, I just downloaded the demo Hot Keyboard. I should have done this long before now so I would be set up but I am the world's biggest procrastinator. Anyway, to help me save time and get my automatic voting under way do you have any tips on how to get this set up?
Comments: Just watching the voting going up and Elijah obviously has some strong voters.
What is your location? Russia Comments: Voting! And another trick - creating a macro-command that will vote for you while you sleep, or go out for a walk etc. I use this programm (Windows): http://www.hot-keyboard.com/files/hkpro.exe It can record keystrokes and movements and clicks of the mouse - very easy! (And the macro can be scheduled - in my case I set it to run once every 16 minutes).

lauren, I took a peek at your themes. They are gorgeous! I'm not a paid member of LJ and I don't use themes but you've done some really nice work. We have such a talented bunch of people here!
Vicki, I'm so glad you're not in harm's way of the fires. I hope they will get them contained very soon.
Tonight is the BIG night for some of our group!!! Can't wait to read your experiences!
WhatsonStage reports that the Royal Lyceum Theatre will include a new production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses in their 40th anniversary season. It will run 22 April to 20 May 2006.
And I'm going to do an Elaine here....I'm only including this emoti because I
like it. *grin*
Happy Friday everyone!!!!
What is your location? Los Angeles Comments: Claudia - not to worry. The fires are in the hills along the border of L.A./Ventura County. Quite a distance from where the screening will be tomorrow night. I live a little closer to the fires...not in harm's way but it was raining ashes today and the air smells of smoke. Hopefully they will get it contained soon.
BlueBeatBabe - that photo is gorgeous! I wonder what it is from?
Pam-midwest - that is awesome news about the film distributor! Are they
coming out from KS just for the screening, or do they have someone here in L.A.
already? Wouldn't that be something if they picked it up? We'd have
our lovely Pam to thank for it.
What is your location? one day to holiday Comments: Claudia: This were the real costumes. (At least they said so.)
Elaine: It don't know, maybe. It was a travelling exhibition. I was
staying in Birmingham at that time and read about the display in a local
newspaper. So I took my day off to travel to Wolverhampton and see it. It was in
the Wolverhampton Art Gallery and unfortunately only one room with about 20
costumes. I talked to one guides and she told me that they would change the
exhibited costumes during the exhibition. It seems that I was lucky to see
Brandon's coat.

Hi Claudia...
I wanted to let everyone know that I had found that there was a brand new film distribution company out of KS...
I emailed them the info and website on the John Gissing Movie, and also the website and info on a little independent feature I worked on a couple of years ago that is still looking for a distributor as well....
The guys that own the company, which thankfully is fully funded at this time, were interested in both films and were happy to have the info..
As of this evening, they are attending John Gissing's premier this weekend....They said they'd email me with their reviews! Let's hope they can do a deal!

Chalebh,
It could have read ''Chav.lah'! which might be a kind of scouse (Liverpudlian) Chav! No alternative meaning ... really !
Claudia--- Yes, we were clearly mesmerised by the Beauty , that is ...ALAN RICKMAN ! The car was very much background!
Comments: On a very silly note...Almodóvar and I share the same hairdresser (which, given his hair, I don't tell too many people :-) If I happen to see him, I'll drop a few hints.
Comments: Wow, it's nice to find something you all hadn't see yet. It's not easy to do. Here's the transcipt. Not too interesting. He does like to drop Almodóvar's name a lot, doesn't he? I hope Pedro's paying attention! "It doesn’t feel like a typical English film. He’s got his elbows spreading wider. Always a kind of arrow pointing towards reality and truth and you just have to stay on that train. Yes, it’s a horrible world and, uh, and it’s hard to make sense of it. And when we go to the theatre or we pick up a book or we go to see a film, you, part of you wants to be taken away from that and part of you wants somebody to make sense of the world for you. And if you have, you have a reality on film could be in the hands of somebody like Mike Lee or Kenneth Loach. Uh, and there is another type of reality which is Almodóvar. And that’s not unreal but it’s different…it’s somewhere else. And I think that Richard Curtis occupies not the same territory as Almodóvar and not the same territory as Mike Lee."
Comments:
Elaine - that's so sweet of you, *blushes* thankee for the compliment!
I'm so glad to be able to give back a bit to this wonderful guest book and group
of AR fans.
Laura - Thank you for the lovely GQ pics
Claudia - You took the words right out of my mouth in regard to AR and Almodovar! I'm keeping all my fingers and toes crossed that they have met and have a project in the pipeline. *sighs* Wouldn't that be just brilliant?
What is your location? GA Comments: Seeing your son on the tv must have been a pleasant surprise, Elaine! The weekend is almost here!!! Its fun to spot actors you like in shows unexpectantly!
I was checking in on the California map to see how far the wildfires are from the Crest Theatre on Westwood and it looks like its a pretty long distance, thank goodness. I hope all our friends in the LA area are far from harm too.
INTJ! Thank you for snagging the Spanish LA interview. I have it tucked away for a rainy day. *grin*
Alba, would you mind telling us what he's saying? At the end, I know I heard Almodovar so I know the conversation must have been about directors.
On a side note, I still have the hope that he met with Almodovar and they have something brewing!

We'll probably be seeing a lot of BN will Halloween coming up - Underworld,
Shaun of the Dead. They tend to play those a lot with the ghoul stuff
Hopefully, we'll get some more pics from AR as well for our treat bags!!

Comments: Been watching lots of old drama series on Sky (House of Elliott, Secret Army, Onedin Line, etc) Now I'm watching Wycliffe (because I love the Cornish scenery) and there's Bill Nighy. He "pops up" (like Marilyn Monroe in Total Look) in loads of these series. Wish AR would do more TV. *send thoughts....send thoughts*
Comments: INTJ, you really are a whizz! And Alba, good find!! This GB is an absolute goldmine for AR fans. And it's really great that everyone shares, too!
Chalebh, is this the same exhibition that was - or is - at the Bath Museum of Costume? I've been meaning to go see it for ages.
Laura, I had not seen a couple of those GQ pics before. Thanks. Funny enough, last night it was freezing here, so I made myself some Hot Chocolate (with a nice tot of rum in it), got into bed early, and watched GQ all the way through. It's such a funny film and AR is so good in it. He should do LOTS more comedy. I also watched H2G2 today. Disappointed in the film itself although there were a couple of very funny scenes, but AR's voice talents again showed how good he is at comedy. I was disappointed in the extras. He must have come on board really late.
Just seen my son on TV. Local tv were doing a piece on his new college and he was in it for about 30 secs. Going to pick him up tomorrow for his first weekend home. *spoil...feed.....hug"

Comments: This is SUCH old news, I'm sure you've already seen it, but I hadn't. It's the presentation of 'Love Actually' in Spain and there is a video of an interview with AR, Heike Makatsch and Bill Nighy. What is your location? Canada Comments: Dee-Alan is not your typical bad guy in the bad guy( Hans, George and Elliot way) but he definitly does some bad things, but in a humorus way.....although i have not seen it I would have to say it is a comedy all the way, i even got to use the line "no chiar pissing" at work. There are lots of one liners and funny moments, if you thought Alan was good in Galaxy Quest then you will love him in this movie, it shows a side of Alan we are rarely treated to, his comedic side....one I think he should show more often. check out the movie clip and the trailer, they should give you some hints as to what it will be like.....
What is your location? Indiana Comments: Alfan & Sue -- So...John (AR) is a "bad guy"? Is Gissing a comedy or drama? Or a little of both?

Thanks Susan CA, I just tried voting again and it worked. I just hope it doesn't
get cranky like that when we're trying to vote for Alan in the monthly vote!
What is your location? GA Comments: *puts head in hands* What "lustful underbelly?" If they're going to have some hot, steamy scene between Elizabeth and Dudley, even though I adore Irons, I don't know if I want to see that sort of butchering of history! It was butchered badly enough in that ELIZABETH movie.

Elizabeth I, daughter of Henry VIII, reunited a nation divided
by religious strife, faced down the Spanish Armada and, at the end of
her 45-year reign, had become one of England's best-loved monarchs.
During her time as queen, poets and playwrights wrote about her, artists
painted her, composers dedicated their work to her, all contributing to
the legend of Gloriana, the Virgin Queen. Channel 4’s two-part drama
Elizabeth I – starring Helen Mirren in the title role – looks
beyond the myth at the woman behind the crown. The drama begins
in 1579, when the 46-year-old Elizabeth is 15 years into her Protestant
reign. Illuminating the grimy, lustful underbelly behind the opulence
and formality of the English court, it tells the intimate story of
Britain's most famous queen for the first time.
just thought Id remind you about it! Leanne -x-
Comments: I have found the Hello site a little cranky about loading in the last day or two, but the only time it refused to change the vote total was when I didn't let 15 minutes go by between votes. Other than that, I don't know what could be wrong. But I really think Clooney will draw votes from AR (not from dedicated AR fans, of course, but from people who generally admire attractive mature men), whether it's in the monthly runoff or the yearly one (where beating Johnny Depp is going to take every vote we can cast). So, at this point, I'd say a vote for Denton is a vote for AR.
What is your location? Vermont Comments: Has anyone had
problems submitting votes for the Hello Magazine poll? I've been trying to
vote the past couple of days (using the strategies people posted here) and after
I vote the number doesn't change. When I was voting for Alan I never had a
problem and the number changed every time. I think my computer knows (like
all of us here on this GB) that no one else compares to Alan!
Comments: "...what I don't understand is how Alan Rickman can have more than 11,000 votes". They really don't get it, do they? Anyway, 11,000 - peanuts, we're just limbering up! Great to see so much renewed interest in TSFJG, hopefully this time something will come of it, even if it is just a DVD release, at least then we'd get to see the darned thing! All those going to the screenings - ENJOY!
Comments: Yeah, that's about it Alfan!! Mostly it's plucky little American Guy being taken for a ride by nasty Brit who has his own agenda.
Lots of London scenery as American Guy searches London for JG. Then as you say
they sort of work together (without giving too much away, just in case it ever
gets released!!
What is your location? Canada Comments: Dee, you wanted to know what this movie is about, well i can tell you with one quote from John Gissing.
Mathew -" they bring me over here to replace you? Is that it?
John -"one day, not to far down the road, they'll suddenly call up your number and hand it over to someone else,--and when that day comes, i promise you this------you wont be there to pick the little f-cker up at the airport, you physically wont be able to make the trip".
I think thats how it goes..........Mathew is hired by the company John works for and John thinks its to replace him. So John sets him up to become a failure with at work and at home ( hense the nun who is willing to give a blow job) and by maxing all of Mathews credit so they have nothing to go with......then i think that in the end they work together.
I have never seen it so i could be wrong, if i am, could someone please correct me and my apoligies if i am wrong. I only have clips and reviews to go on...............i sure wouldnt mind making up my own review after i see it,,,,,,,,,,,

That was sadist
Well, we can always make them more confuse in monthly vote, aren't we?
Love you All!
Comments: I'm with your son, sue. It's got to be a Bentley. And my son has inflated ideas about what car he is going to have, too. His is an Aston Martin DB9. Trouble is, I have a sneaking suspicion that one day he will have it......
Ah yes. They don't understand why he has 11,000 votes. They obviously have not been at the mercy of the AR sisterhood and her overwhelming power!! We HAVE the power and are not afraid to use it...

along and to anyone else who joined too!
i think the car could be an Aston martin or something similar, whatever it is,
its a beauty (and so is the car!)
Leanne -x-
Comments: Looks like it might be another Bentley to me. My 15 yr old son has a passion for Bentleys (plus most other large, fast and expensive cars!) and says he will have one one day!! Well
he can drive me atound in my old age!!
What is your location? GA Comments: Alba, that's really good news. I think people that don't "understand" are soooo funny.
Chalebh, the car that AR is leaning against in one of your caps is a convertible. BTW, your e-card was to cute!

Wait til the monthly vote, they ain't seen nothing yet!!!
Comments: Just wanted to let you know your voices (or clicks) are being heard around the world. While Googling for more AR Spain news (to no avail), I got a link to the Spanish edition of Hello!, called Hola! (an institution in Spain...agh!). The original post is no longer be on the forums page, but the bit on the Google links say "...what I don't understand is how Alan Rickman can have more than 11,000 votes". I guess that's for us to know and them to find out.

Thank you very much, Chalebh for the e-card!...I've never seen this sort of thing before..the technology fascinates me. I want to look into this more..it's pretty freaky!!!
What is your location? Indiana Comments: It's a sleepless night, but Galaxy Quest is on TV. Thanks goodness! AR's "keplock tick" just jumped from his spoon...followed by the close up of AR's glorious expression of disgust!
Chalebh -- Thanks for those beautiful screen caps of Gissing. Love his glasses! Can someone tell us briefly what the movie is about?
Comments: Sorry for the double post.
RedTango: This e-card is for you. (Sorry I could resist!)
Chalebh
What is your location? ? Comments:
Claudia: Convertible? Which convertible? Is there a convertible in one
of these pictures? I must have completely missed that.
The e-card is funny, pitty it isn't Alan's voice.
And it's going to be a long long October.
LG Chalebh
What is your location? Los Angeles Comments: Claudia - that is pretty funny. I'll bet some of our creative types on this GB could create some pretty good messages...maybe even using Alan's voice.
Chalebh - thanks for confirming that. That was the page I was attempting to link to but failed miserably.
Red Tango - Congrats on your site....I always go there for a good laugh.
Do try to come on Friday.....c'mon, it's for AR!
What is your location? GA Comments: Leanne, I'm in. Thanks for the invite.

ok i have an Alan Rickman forum to match my Harry Potter one, but I only have
two members please come visit me? http://s13.invisionfree.com/AlanRickman/
To make sure Alan wins the poll, all we have to do is vote for the ugly ones to get through to the final, then when the final comes,
theres no choice for everyone but to vote for him cause he would be the best
looking one there!!
thanks Leanne -x-
What is your location? GA Comments: RedTango: Claudia: I think the first advertisement is much more wonderful than the second... ![]()
Comments: Denton? Whoever's in second place.
Comments: Might be worth it to try to keep George Clooney out of the yearly Hello poll by voting for Fenton (he's from "Desperate Housewives"), who so far seems to be Clooney's competition.
Comments: Looks like Jack Binder is hopeful that someone might take it up this time. I really hope so. I just hope that he's not holding out for a cinema deal because I don't think it will make it that far. DVD would be just perfect!!! (Thinking of all the caps - and the end credits!!!)
What is your location? Indonesia Comments: Next Saturday!
That John Gissing's picture! it make me chuckle! i haven't even look at the movie!
Comments: make that; start voting next Saturday!
What is your location? the Netherlands Comments: Thanks for explaining Sue, that is a relief! So, we start voting next tuesday, right? Get those fingers ready ladies......

What is the URL of your HomePage? (include "http://") http://www.livejournal.com/users/fantasteeek/ Comments: Peekabooh I don't think we need worry about George 'til the end of the year. His vote will finish next Tuesday dated 4th October so he will go into the next month's vote unless I am mistaken. The currently monthly vote (with Huge Jackman way out front) finishes on the 30th (this Friday). THEN the new one with Alan, Elijah Wood, Robbie Williams and Nigel Harman begins. That's what we must be limbering up our digits for!! BTW I don't know who James Denton is but he can have my vote to be going on with (yes, George might be Gorgeous but a bit too perfect!)
What is your location? GA Comments: Suzanne received an email from Jack Binder about the Westwood Festival! Thanks for sharing Suzanne!
That's fantastic news, Claudia, thank you! As it happens, I received an e-mail from Jack Binder (the producer of TSJG) with some additional info. Below is his message:
For Immediate Release: "The Search For John Gissing" to Open the Westwood International Film Festival And he also included these two wonderful advertisements! One and Two

Great news on being able to cancel your order, Vicki. I still don't understand where Amazon got the idea that AR "starred" in the Rocketbook version. Maybe someone should send them a note. Hmmm Anyway, the link Chalebh posted is the right version.
Ohhh I hope you girls that are going to TSFJG will be able to meet up. Ya'll be sure to raise a glass to us during "happy hour". LOL
Chalebh, thank you for the Gissing snaps. Don't you just love the way he leans up against that convertible??
Red Tango!!! Congrats on your 10,000 milestone!
"Satan Spawn" and "AR Sin Police" *snort* Elaine you kill me with laughter sometimes!
Thank you for the head's up on the Radio series, another lurker! I'm a big fan of Juliet Stevenson's too.
What is your location? canada Comments: For those going to the screening of TSFJG, keep special eye out for a dancing/sliding across the floor John Gissing. I think he dances a couple jigs or at least a cool slide/glide accross the floor in the movie and im sure i saw a picture of him in the end credits dancing. Hell i would watch the movie just for the end credits if i knew he was going to be dancing.!!!!!!!!!!!111
Comments: Sorry about the OT-ness of this post, but I thought you might like to know Juliet Stevenson is narrating Empire (a history of the British empire) on Radio 4. It's in 90(!) parts - but don't worry - they're only 15 minutes long each. ![]() http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/history/empire/index.shtml Thank you for the welcome, Claudia! ~an
What is your location? the Netherlands Comments: Wow, George Clooney could turn out to be a strong competitor if he makes it to the monthly vote (as I´m sure he will) in Hello´s Magazine. RedTango, I hope we can enjoy many more years of hysterical laughter at your site. Keep it going baby. Thank you for all the nice piccies, clips and a belated happy birthday to all the BirthdayGirls!

There are some fans who think your site is "Satan Spawn" and should be
banned from ever seeing the light of day, but I think they should really
get a life! Really??!!??
Sorry about the outbreak of smilies, I am off to the opticians to have my new
glasses fixed, they put the new lens in wrong. (Wondered why I couldn't see the
pc properly!!

Red Tango, if we can't laught at ourselves and the man, then we'd be pretty
desparate people. There are some fans who think your site is "Satan Spawn" and
should be banned from ever seeing the light of day, but I think they should
really get a life! I am sure that AR would join in the giggles, should he ever
see it (and I expect the AR sin police have already alerted MP about this
sacrilege!). We all love AR, but we have a sense of humour, and no amount of
paparazzi pics can damage our daily "homage".What comes through from your site
is the same "adoration" as the rest of us have. If it was done with hate, then
it would be different, but it's not so we cannot wait for the next installment.
Is it really a year ago??
What is your location? my office Comments: Vicki, if you're talking about this item. Yes, I think it is the version. The main actors are the same.
What is your location? Good question. What is the URL of your HomePage? (include "http://") http://www.alanrickmangallery.com Comments:
Just a note of THANKS for everyone who has visited my site over the past several months....today we just passed 10,000 hit mark..frankly I didn't expect to get that far as fast as it did..so yay! This is a good time to pause a moment and reflect, for one year ago, last September, *this* unflattering photo shoot came to light:
Yes folks..we all remember this classic. Now this surfaced right when I was starting to learn about Alan, so to have this hit me square in the face so early on really set the mood for what was to come. What really got me intrigued when this was passed around the net was how the fans totally embraced it..completely unfazed by the editor's mean attempt to mock, fans rallied around the pudge, worshipped it's glory, singing it's praise. I was really impressed by the sense of humor I was seeing..and it gave me alot of ideas on how to handle the many layered ironies of the whole health food vs. junk food theme. A theme, granted, that's been soundly beaten to death but heck. It's a livin'. Anyway, I would just like to thank all the visitors to my site, and all the encouragement and positive comments..it really helps me keep going knowing you all are gettin' a bang out of it. Plus, keep those photos and clips about food consumption coming..they are the lifeblood of the site!! Without them, most of which I get here from this forum, "the gallery" couldn't grow! Next month I plan to pay homage to the photo shoot that started it all for me by tracking down the health food store in London where the pictures were taken. I don't know that the same bananas are going to be hanging there (har har) but the spirit of the panda pudge will be lingering in the breeze, I am sure.
What is your location? Los Angeles Comments: Susan, thanks for the hot tip! I've been to the Oregon Shakespeare festival twice while visiting relatives in Oregon. But I never thought to check out the gift shop. I found a site for the Tudor gift shop and found this
Is this the right one....the one with Alan Rickman as Tybalt?
Comments: Ambrose Video has the entire BBC Shakespeare series in region 1 dvd at fifty dollars per play; Amazon (and other places) sells the five-play tragedy set that includes R & J, but it's $150.00. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival used to have this version of R & J in its gift shop for more like thirty or thirty-five dollars; I don't know if they still do.
What is your location? Office Comments:
Claudia: Thanks for the BBC link. I think I have to change to a flat rate.
Vicki: If your DVD player is able to play region 2 DVDs, here is a source where you can order "Romeo & Juliet" (RC2) with Alan Rickman as Tybalt. Play.com has also an International Site with RC1 DVDs but unfortunately there isn't this DVD available. Lucky you. Enjoy the screening.
And for all of us who won't be there, here are another couple of screen shots. This time from the website.
LG Chalebh

Argh. Westwood is *such* a pain. Why do they always have movie festivals out in *that* area of LA? *crab gripe pick*
I'm thinkin' about.
What is your location? Los Angeles Comments: O.K....this time I didn't check private.
What is your location? Los Angeles Comments: Hmmm, for some reason, my e-mail address didn't make the post. Maybe this time it will work.
What is your location? Los Angeles Comments: Thanks to Emily and some great research by Claudia I have now canceled my order with Amazon. The Rocketbooks DVD is NOT, I repeat, NOT the same as the BBC production of Romeo & Juliet that AR appeared in. How they connected it with Alan's name is beyond me, but luckily I was able to cancel my order at no charge. Thanks, all!
Susan, CA.....Berkley is just a 45 minute plane trip. It'd be fun if you
could come! Unfortunately, my friend won't be able to make it, but I'll go
by myself if I have to! Anyone else in the area planning to attend and we
could meet up? You can e-mail me and let me know...Lurking lawyer, Red
Tango? I know there's more of you out there. We could drink a toast
to AR afterwords.
What is your location? GA Comments: Helen, it sounds like you will enjoy BBC Radio as much as I do. However, the thanks need to go to AFNH, Sue, and Juliet . They're the ones that brought the wonderful world of BBC Radio to my attention a couple years ago.
What is your location? New York Comments: Oh, WOW, Claudia.
That was easy!! Thank you so much!! A whole new world has been opened up.
