Chris~ Yep! New year is here!
What is your location? GA Comments: Hey Chris- Will do! No sense in being sick AND sober!
Comments: Just wanted to wish everybody here a Merr.. aaahh...(got stuck on that last Christmas greeting ) a Happy New Year! May all your wishes come true! Marlina, is it 2007 in Indonesia already? Only twelve hours to go for me. I'll be seeing you all next year then! PS: Nicky, make sure you get wasted tonight and forget all about your cold. I sure plan to! (er, the getting wasted part. hehe.)
What is your location? GA Comments: Thanks Pam- Yes, nasty stuff. But I have all I need. I'm used to taking care of others and not myself. perhaps a splash of Brandy! (just kidding)
What is your location? Massachusetts Comments: Nicketynick, I know what you mean about the bug. As I stated, we had it for a week..bad stuff to be sure.. Take care and try to have a nice New Years .
What is your location? GA Comments: Thanks! Appreciate the thoughts!
Comments: Nicketynick, oh I'm so sorry to hear you're sick! are you sure it's the flu? better get yourself to the doctor real quick, they're taking the flu very serious lately. I think you mentioned one time that you're a nurse, well, now's the time to take care of yourself! rest, rest, rest, love ya! I'll stop in tomorrow to see how you are!
What is your location? GA Comments: Cheers Dumpy! Too sick to party I'm afraid. Flu is kicking my butt, and winning. Have a good New Years!
What is your location? party come on over, where Comments: New Year's Eve coming soon!
What is your location? cynical mood, see below! Comments: "peace on earth and mercy mild God and sinners reconcile"
(another execution) and mankind takes another step backwards, what nex?
Also, is there a bug living among the Christmas decorations making us sick?!?!? cough, cough!
What is your location? Massachusetts Comments: Claudia, glad to see you back and feeling better. Nickettnick, hope the bug doesnt stay with you too long. We had here up here too this past week. It was pretty "yucky"-hope it goes away soon. It really takes its toll.. Can anyone here recommend a good AR dvd with extras on it to get?? I still have a gift card left and have almost all the films on VHS except for S & S. which one (or ones) would you recommend buying especially for the extra stuff in them??? Thanks in advance guys and have a nice evening. I took my son shopping today with his gift cards and he had a blast. I went by myself to a store called the fashion bug and found some cute snowmen fleece jackets on sale. (I love snowmen-if I knew how to do a smiley type of thing I would put one here!!) see you later...
What is your location? Ga Comments: Claudia- Glad your Holiday was good! However, whatever crud you had has made it's way to my part of GA and I'm completely knackered! (sniffle)
What is your location? Canada Comments: ok, you know what i just did. I downloaded a few songs from Sweeney Todd, and i think Alan can pull off the songs he has to sing. In the versions i downloaded the judge has a deep voice and i can see Alan dong it with no problem. The song Joanna is quite good and it will be somethng to look forward to.
What is your location? GA Comments: Hello everyone! Sorry to have been gone for so long but my family and myself have been pretty sick with some kind of crud that's been going around. I think *crossing fingers* that its finally put out to pasture. Today has been the first day I've felt like being online.
I'm in the process of deleting the nasty posts. I'll make another run through in a few minutes so if I missed something, I'll get them then.
I'm asking once again (and they know who they are).....PLEASE don't bring your fights over here. I'd prefer that the nastiness not exist at all but I have no control over it at other places but I do have control here and I'm asking you to play nice here.
I hope everyone had a brilliant Christmas. Considering everyone being ill....our's was good. The kids were very happy and that's what counts.
New Year's is on us!!! Can't wait cause I'm even feeling like a bottle of wine real soon. *wink*
What is your location? Canada Comments: Doh!!! How could i forget that, it could be possible though to totally add to a great year with Snape redeeming himself, saving Harry and the wizarding world, live to the end and live happily ever teaching dunderheads the " soft subtle science that is potion making".
( does anyone see that happening)?? hee hee
Comments: Alfan you forgot one thing! Book 7's also coming out this year. teheh. That trip to Mexico sounds fantastico, senorita! Pam - Oh please don't remind me about New Year's! I'm h...ho...HOSTING this year! Can you imagine the pain?? Nicky, better make that a double shot for me!
What is your location? Massachusetts Comments: Alfan-a big congratulations to you on your upcoming wedding! May you have years of bliss and happiness. I really better get to bed now!! G'night all and peaceful dreams

What is your location? Canada Comments: Thanks, i wish i could indulge myself in some of the bubbly but i work that night so i will have to just drink bubbly water.
What is your location? GA Comments: Alanfan- How exciting for you! I can hear the wedding bells! Congratulations! Allow me to pour you some champs!
What is your location? Canada Comments: Hope you all had a pleasant Christmas. Mine was great, i recieved many wonderful presents, specially from Keith. I even managed to find and purchase my wedding dress. ( mom paid half ). OH, its going to be a greeeaaaatttt year. A wedding, a trip to New York for our honeymoon, a trip in the winter to Mexico, and best of all three Alan movies,,,,,,,,actually four. Perfume, Snow Cake, Noble Son and Order of the Phoenix,,,,,,,could it get any better?
What is your location? Ga Comments: Ok, I have a nice chilled bottle of Goldschlager. To have a shot or to not have a shot? That is the question.................
What is your location? Ga Comments: First round is on me! Pam,Dumpy, what's your poison? I think I feel a pint comin' on.........
What is your location? Ga Comments: Thanks for the lovely gifts and wishes!! Having fun watching Galaxy Quest today! It still cracks me up! Now, drinks for my wonderful brunch. What shall it be.........
What is your location? Canada Comments: Ugh!!
Comments: Yeah, this constant bickering between the same two people all the time over the same things is really old and tired. I don't care who started it or who's right or most offended by it. I skip all the posts about it and just look for REAL comments and conversations. Just knock it off! I think the crowd is tired of the constant train wreck. It's lost all interest!
What is your location? Massachusetts Comments: Hi Chris-glad to see you! Hope you had a nice christmas and all the best for the new year. Off to work in a few minutes, then this afternoon, we are heading out for the store with our "gift cards"!!! I received 75.00 for Target!!! WOO WOO--here I come- speaking of food fights, chris, I have a stooge poster on my wall with food fight!! HA HA-love it-they are the best team ever.. Have a good one everyone- Claudia-thanks again for such a great board and thanks to everyone here for being such good friends-all the best for the new years- remember PEACE is the3 word---see ya later guys-have fun
Comments: Now that's the spirit! *food fight* And there I thought I was the only one who couldn't get into the Christmas spirit this year! Aaaaw, how ...comforting! I can only imagine how some people celebrate New Year's! On a somewhat related note, have you guys seen this? It's addicting! The guy can do just about everything from "drop pants" to "act like Michael Jackson". *desperately trying to change the subject*
Comments: Dumpy, I am sorry if you do not like my kind of humour. I cannot stop it, for most people around me like it. And I have no idea what character assassination is... I would never assassinate a Dickens character!!! I was known as Sikes for a while and had no problem with that. Dickens is the best - maybe that is why I like Obadiah so much, because Trollope gets close to Dickens there (and he was often said he could not reach Dickens's genius in characterization.) Well, a matter of taste I guess. As is humour... Well, just ignore my silly ramblings in the future. I do not mean to offend anyone Just a piece of advice: Your arguments cannot be solved here as they have nothing to do with this board. It did not work in the past and will not work now - it merely disturbs people like me who have no idea what this is all about. Promise, this will be my last post about this subject.
Comments: OK I am not going to be anonymous or anything else but personally I am sick to death of these arguments and accusations on here between a couple of people. It seems to have originated on other boards and I'd be grateful if you'd take them back to those boards and not put them here.
Claudia through her wonderful generosity gave us her original site with all the Rickman gems, then she gave us the GuestBook to discuss them on THEN> she gave us this page to have fun on! The crap below is NOT fun!!! Take it to email or drop it.
What is your location? Massachusetts Comments: Hi Nicketynick, yes, we had a wonderful holiday here too although no snow for a white Christmas. It was warm almost in the 50's but wonderful for traveling. We usually go to the inlaws for a big christmas together with my hubbys family (he is one of 6 kids) and have a christmas feat and open presents in the afternoon. I went to the Christmas services in the morning, and then at 11 PM a friend and myself went to the special Christmas eve service which was quite nice with the choir singing, the wreaths up, christmas tree and candles aglow at the end of the service. We got home around 1AM and I filled the stockings for christmas morning. as one of Santas elves. My son is all set now with his Christmas gifts, a Wi system, and some more presents under the tree. We also received some dvd's such as The DaVinci Code (we never saw it at the movies so are going to watch it this week as my husband is on vacation. I also received the new pirates movie with Johnny Depp-cant wait to see that one again. On Christmas eve I always receive a new pair of PJ's and this year I received a pair of Nick and Nora PJ's with an aqua background with pink Flamingos with scarfs and santa hats on them of all things along with an old fashioned looking camper decorated with christmas lights in the bakground-what fun pj's to wear for Christmas! my son also received a three stooges card that played their theme song-it is hysterical. I am leaving up the decorations until next week until everyone is back in work/school etc. I will also take down my little village that I have had up for the last month with the fgreenhouse that lights up. Inside, there are poinsettias with lights that glow overhead. It is a bachmans Dept. 56 piece which I was fortunate enough to pick up this fall! Anyway-enough gab-off to bed after a nice Christmas. Looking forward to a peaceful 2007 after a rough year for my family. Peace to all-HAPPY NEW YEAR
Comments: "sorry you dont like me Dumpy but I try to live by the old bible verse love they neighbor as thyself and have tried repeatedly to hold the door of friendship open." --from Pam Well, that's not friendly! made a joke just for you and you take offense! are you sure you're a George Carlin, Three Stooges fan?!?!? do I have to say a list of foul words, or poke you in the eyes like Moe to make you laugh, Pam?!?!?
"I think, Dumpy, you are the "bah, humbug" kind of person."-- from Puddingdale Well, that's not friendly! character assassination seems to be your style Pudding, my post should have made you roll on the floor laughing!
I try to make you all laugh, and there's truth in what I said as you just proved! come on, now, let's party!
Comments: Nicketynick hi! how are you?!!? hope you liked your "presents"! it was a pleasure making them! my Christmas was wonderful! many good memories, my husband did a spectacular job putting decorations on the tree I couldn't stop taking photos!
So happy to know you'd understand my sense of humor. I see you posting almost daily, kind of quiet around here, thought I'd liven things up! (although some people seem to be self-starters!)
What is your location? Massachusetts Comments: Pudd-I agree with you and wish Dumpy a much happier new year and all the best. sorry you dont like me Dumpy but I try to live by the old bible verse love they neighbor as thyself and have tried repeatedly to hold the door of friendship open. All the best- Hope everyone had a fun christmas day. Get ready for New Years now! We usually go the special Three Stooges Festival where they show 6 films and have a bucnh of stuff where you can win prizes too. see you all soon-

* *||=|=|=||[[]]///* * * *==||==
The rest of you can pick up your gifts in Centralia pa usa where they've already been pre-tested.
What is your location? Massachusetts Comments: MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a wonderful Christmas Day everyone-Thanks Claudia for giving us all your GB to share and discuss AR. All the best for 2007 Claudia and all the ladies over here and the main page.
What is your location? GA Comments: Hope everyone was good this year and gets all the presents they hoped for!
I can explain............. *snort,snicker*
What is your location? Los Angeles Comments: SnoKat - I take that to mean that he thinks that Snape is guilty...in other words he's a traitor who is and always was loyal to Voldie....or at least decided to rejoin the DE's once Voldie returned...to which I say BAH!
Alfan and I know different....we even have matching t-shirts that say Snape is Innocent which we will wear proudly as book seven will prove us right!

I finally finished my Christmas shopping last night. Now on to the wrapping. I always put on my favorite Christmas movies to watch while I wrap to add to the holiday spirit. How unusual that Alan is in two of my favorite holiday movies (Love, Actually and Die Hard). I'll also be watching It's a Wonderful Life, The Christmas Carol, A Christmas Story, and Miracle on 34th Street.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, a Happy Kwanzaa, and a Happy Festivus for the rest of us!
What is the URL of your HomePage? (include "http://") http://www.snapekat.livejournal.com Comments: Okay, so you all know about the new HP book title. This is from, I think, JKR's web site and is a quote from her about Dan Radcliffe *sigh*
What I want to know is, 'What does this mean??'
Dan has changed his theory on Snape; he says he doesn't want to be like one of those people who are photographed, beaming, next to mad dictators.
Does that mean he doesn't want to be photographed with Alan or Ralph Finnes or that he doesn't want Harry to be photographed with someone??
What is your location? Massachusetts Comments: Alfan, if you want to hear some classics, get the Rat Pack Christmas with all three guys on it-Dean, FRank and Sammy Davis Jr. I also love Deans rendition of Baby its cold outside-he was quite the entertainer. If anyone is interested I just posted next door, on Amazon.com they are now taking pre-orders for the new Hayy Potter book book 7..I really want to see how it all ends and how she wraps it up, but am a little timid to do so in case it doesnt end well!!! offf for the day-have a good one allnd HO HO HO
What is your location? Canada Comments: I ablsolutly love Dean Martin's "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow"----classic.
What is your location? Massachusetts Comments: Hi everyone-what a busy time but an exciting one! I love all the pics of Alan on the other page! Hope everyone is ready or almost ready for Christmas. I have my ginger Snapes all baked and ready to bring to parties etc. Today I listened to the Celtic Women while wrapping last minute gifts and also some christmas tunes titled The Rat Pack-Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Sammy davis Jr. They remind me of all those fabulous shows we used to watch on TV as kids. Dean was so funny on stage. I finally got a chance to watch Love Actually by myself and enjoyed it again. It gets better with each viewing and I think Hugh GRant makes a cute Prime Minister. Anyway, off for the holidays-will try to stop in here now and then- Have fun everyone-Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah and Kwanza too. Pam P.S. While riding in town the other day, I saw a van with a menorah on its roof with the candles lit for how many days (I think was 4 I saw lit out of the 8) and imagine it must be almost totally lit by now. What a cool idea-anyone out here ever hear of this or have done it? I thought it was a neat idea. Peace to all and let us all have a good 2007.
What is your location? england Comments: Wayne and anyone else interested. You can watch Play here
What is your location? Ga Comments: Hello campers! Is everyone in hiding? Hope all is well. I can't speak for anyone else, but the photo next door is sizzlin'! He looks VERY squeezable! Something you could sink your teeth into......
What is your location? GA Comments: Welcome aboard wayne! I hope you enjoy our board as much as we do.
As for Play, it is on DVD in the Beckett on Film series. But its very expensive. Play.com and Amazon UK has it. You might want to search eBay to see if you can find it cheaper. Also, you might try your local library. They may have a copy you can borrow.
I've added all the recent interviews and a new sound file courtesy of sue and woj to the top of the Guest Book. Those links will stay good until I move them to their permanent home on the Download Haven site. Enjoy!
Comments: No problems Wayne, besidew we Surrey-ites have to stick together!!
What is your location? surrey UK Comments:
Thankyou - exactly what I meant - brilliant - just need to get it on DVD now
thanks again
What is your location? Ga Comments: Alright Hikity, but only because you said to! let me get dressed up for this one!
Comments: Pfffffffffffff, Nickitynick, yes, girl, go and punish him, thudaliciously, please
What is your location? Ga Comments: I don't think what Alan said is all that bad. But it's all a matter of opinon and everyone has their right to it. I have a bit tougher skin than most, and it's pretty difficult to offend me. Oh well, he looked and sounded yummy! But for those who were slightly offended, he's been a very naughty boy and must be punished! LOL i'm sorry guys, I couldn't pass that one up!
What is the URL of your HomePage? (include "http://") http://www.snapekat.livejournal.com Comments: Thanks! Got the interview!
Yep, Alan said a naughty word. Frankly I'd pay money if he's just whisper even that ONE word over and over in my ear!!!
Comments: SnoKat - here a download link for The Hour interview: http://download.yousendit.com/4A06390720F3CBF6
Comments: Marlina, God damn I suppose
Comments: What is the "GD" word? I can't download the video.. at least not until tomorrow, and i'm curious!!! LOL!
What is your location? Los Angeles Comments: I was just cruising around the web and wandered over to Red Tango's site. I guess she is going to shut down her Alan Rickman gallery on December 31st. So, if you want to copy any of her many hilarious pictures for your own collection, you'd better do it before the end of the year.
What is the URL of your HomePage? (include "http://") http://www.snapekat.livejournal.com Comments: Hey, does anyone have The Hour interview available for download? The one I saw has expired.
What is your location? GA Comments: I only post once in a while at Suzanne's. I've had difficulty before, but it's been awhile. That interview next door is to die for!
Such a shy fella isn't he? (let me help 'ya with that sheet darlin'.....)
Comments: Just a question: I haven't been able to post on Suzannes' for quite some time - does anybody know where the problems lies?
Comments: Nickitynick, Easter holidays (schools here) are from 31 March to 15 April!!!!!!!!!! I'll check flights
What is your location? Ga Comments: For some people, he has to grow on you. I admit he has 1 or 2 songs that I don't care for. I've heard about his grouchiness before as well. What a shame.
Comments: When I first started work many years ago one of the girls in the office tried to get me into Van Morrison but I just couldn't take to him but now I really enjoy his stuff. Just a shame he has a reputation for being the grouchiest, meanest guy in the business!!LOL
What is your location? GA Comments: Hikity- Isn't he wonderful? Gotta love him! I've never had any specific favorite albums, but almost anything he does is great. Astral Weeks was very different. I personally liked it.Here's the link to his website so you can see all of his works. There's so much that I don't have, especially his new stuff. Can't wait to try it!
Comments: Aaaah, Chris. Music for Elevators - got that one in my collection, too. I guess AR would be able to give a sophisticated speech on those songs ... they are certainly not mainstream. I used to like Buffy - it was so weird that it was intelligent at the same time (if you looked past all the masks and campness) *lol* And I loved ASH's confused stammerings and dry humour.
Comments: Nicketynick, I MUST have slept over the last 30 years...good grief, I've never heard of VM before, just checked it and heard some of his songs and -------big THUD. My music, absolutely. I ordered 2 CDs on the spot . Tell me, which ones are the best in yur opinion and do you know Astral Weeks?
Comments: What? Say that again? Anthony Stewart Head? W00T! crush alert, crush alert! I was never a Buffy fan but I listened to his album recently, Music For The Elevators , gotta hand it to you, the man's got voice. And, he looks pretty good in fishnets too. *snort* Pam, I'm trying out your recipe this afternoon, let's just hope I won't screw it up.
What is your location? GA Comments: Hikity- I don't know if you're interested, but Van Morrison will be in concert April 6th & 7th in Manchester. I wasn't sure if you were a Van Morrison fan or not. I know I am! That's around the time I'll be in London, so I'm going to try to squeeze that in! Can't help it!
Well it's a wonderful night for a moondance........
Comments: Wayne, that is Alan in Play by Samuel Beckett directed by Anthony Minghella. It starred Alan, Kristin Scott-Thomas and Juliet Stevenson. You can see it on Claudia's Downloads Here:
http://britbitsandclips.com/AR_Film.htm
About half way down on the right-hand side.
What is your location? surrey UK Comments: I seem to remember seeing Alan on TV in a short piece - where Just hes head { made up all muddy } came out of a pot and receiting a Poem or something intercharging with two other women whos heads where in pots - speaking very fast
cant remember any more details - but would love to know what it was and if available on DVD at all
But I may have the wrong actor if so sorry
What is your location? New York Comments: OMG...I forgot about those! Those commercials really created their very own subculture!
What is your location? Los Angeles Comments: LOL!! We had the exact same cheesy coffee ads here too but they went under the brand name of Taster's Choice coffee. According to this site the ads originated in the UK in the late 80's and were so popular they even spawned a 300 plus page paperback novel based on the characters. The same actors reprised their roles for the U.S. version in the early 90's.
....and that's your trivia for the day.
Comments: And don't forget that good old ASH is the Prime Minister in Little Britain. If that madness did not buy him the right to be in a film with AR, I do not know what would. *rofl* So, he has not been typecast as Giles yet. HA! It is fun to be off topic.
Comments: I am happy to hear that you are all too young for our Men, yeah! MrsDoylesCat, hihi, I like this "short film" - and thanks for introducing us to ASH. I haven't heard of him before but if he is in BUFFY Tanja certainly will know him. I go for Angel (another thud, )
What is your location? New York Comments: Sno, that's exactly what I was thinking! Also, IMVHO, 24 is still too young to teach Dan all that he needs to know....He needs a fine Bordeaux, not a Beaujolais! ROTFL....
Comments: Anthony Stuart Head will always be the man in the cheesey Nescafe ads to most Brits of a certain age!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pQeoC9Y8Xw
What is the URL of your HomePage? (include "http://") http://www.snapekat.livejournal.com Comments: DAMN! If "older" women were of interest to Dan, I'm sure I could be of help! Gaaahhhh.... can you just imagine the practice that would need to be done??
What is your location? New York Comments: Couple of bits of minutiae regarding all the latest news (didn't put it on the main board because it's not strictly AR related):
Dan Radcliffe's "love interest" in EQUUS has been chosen this week. Her name is Johanna Christie, a 24yr.old theatre actress from England. The producers reportedly auditioned 600+ actresses and narrowed it down to six, all of whom auditioned with Dan. She was called back four times and was picked by Dan. the producers said the two of them had great chemistry! LOL...A good thing, considering what they have to do on stage! Well, nothing like learning from an "older woman"! Also, reports have been surfacing that Anthony Stuart Head is also going to be in "Sweeney Todd" (possible as Beadle?). If anyone isn't familiar, he was in the TV series "Buffy, The Vampire Slayer".
Comments: Chris, the tree on the pic is our X-mas tree from 2004/5. We have never ever had anything but genuine candles. Besides, the tree cannot fall over cz hubby fixes it
On a side note: Reading these "funny" comments here posted from time to time by nameless persons??? I would suggest that we all take a huge breath and then just leave it, forever, okeydokey???
What is your location? Massachusetts Comments: If anyone wants to read and get some nice recipes, try the Gooseberry Patch cookbooks-they are full of helpful hints. I have herb gardens and flower beds and love to be out there in the summer and get a lot of great tips and recipes from the ladies that publish the book. They also have some neat little homey items for sale for the kitchen too. Back to reading the Cat who Mystery book-have a good one-you guys are nice friends.
What is your location? Massachusetts Comments: Hi Chris, Did you get a chance to make the ginger snapes yet? I made a big batch for our church party this weekend. I know there are a few AR fans there along with us. Enjoy and hugs to all. be good
What is your location? Massachusetts Comments: BRRRR-----It is SO cold here today!!! The temperature only hit around 22 degrees.. Tomorrow is supposed to be almost 40 and then on 50 for Sunday-I cant wait-it will feel like Florida--HA HA Anyway, I wanted to share this with you guys as I thiought this group would appreciate it. While shopping at my local Target Store, I came across and YES, actually bought a pair of Christmas pajamas with of all things on them Pink Flamingoes with red Santa hats on their heads. In the background is a camper/trailer sort of thing with christmas lights along the top of the camper..They are so cool. (If I knew how to do images I would put a flamingo in this post!!!) I always get a pair of new PJ's for Christmas and thought-hey, what the heck, these should bring nice christmas dreams.. See you later-have a good one
What is your location? Ga Comments: Looks like I've got advanced tech-support lined up! Thanks guys! That's a dandy lookin' camera Chris. I'll have to check that out after the x-mas holidays. Hopefully when the all the sales are going on. This means I'll have to get a pic of the "Nanner Shrine" at Planet Organic! Perhaps I'll run into the Man over at the produce department whilst I'm selecting cucumbers! How interesting would that be?!
Comments: I'm not much of an expert but as far as cameras are concerned, I'd go for Canon. I have a Canon PowerShot A540 and I'm pretty satisfied. And Hikity's right, it's not that hard to upload your photos. We'll gladly guide you through the process if you get stuck, Nicky. And anyway, there is NO escape, we'll be wanting lots of photos from your upcoming London trip. Hey Hikity, did you say genuine candles?? Whoa. Very impressive though you should be very careful, my grandmother used to do that and then one year the tree somehow caught fire and fell on the furniture and the whole living room caught fire. Oh yeah. Very nasty business. For the past 3 years I've been having an artificial tree. Less effort, no need to clean the place afterwards. I miss the scent though. Now each year I have to buy a pine scent spray to go with it.
Comments: Nick, I wouldn't buy one now before X-mas - too expensive and may be they sell you an older model. Wait until next year. Uploading is really super easy, believe me - it nearly works on its own.
What is your location? Ga Comments: I don't have a tree. But here's the sad part: the last time I bought a camera was 8 years ago, and the ex-hubby knicked it. So, I'll have to be bold and make a purchase! And I haven't the first damn clue about cameras of this day and age. It's pitiful. I don't know how to upload pics either. For shame!
Comments: Thanks Claudia, although I was very near to a nervous breakdown at the very end, as always afterwards everything looks fine again...and I wonder why I made such a fuss about the exam Being among mainly young folk I enjoyed those five years at the university tremendously. We laughed and learnt a lot together. Chris and Pam, I don't think there is any tree up in Germany right now...it's not Christmas. Pam, this is not custom here to do it so early. We usually buy the tree around the 21 Dec and have it on our terrace (in a bucket with water). Then on the evening of the 23th I decorate the tree including genuine candles like this one for example:
Comments: Am I the only one who decorates her Christmas tree on the 24th? No, no tradition involved. I'm just lazy. PS: Your trip sounds great, Nicky! Hope you have a blast while in London. And be sure to take your camera with you!
What is your location? Massachusetts Comments: Hi everyone-Nicketynick, you MUST be excited and I dont blame you. Have fun planning your trip. As I was checking out our schools website, I almost had heart failure. Here I was browsing under AR and what did I see but come meet Alan November!!! HA HA kind of funny-I had to investigate. Apparently his program is about empowering students with technology. I( am sure our Alan could empower us also, right girls??? Anyway, have a fun evening..Does everyone have their trees up and most of the dwecorating done? Hanukah is coming too on the 16th. I have one sister that celebrates and she doesnt have kids, so I send her a Barnes and Noble gift card with her card, as she is an avid reader. see everyone later-enjoy this special time of year--Peace and Love
What is your location? GA Comments: Hi Pam- Oh yeah, I can't wait! I've been planning this for a while now! I'm told it's common to spot celebs and the like in London. The Theatre is calling me! It may sound crazy, but the theatre is one of my main reasons for going. I'll be there for 8 days, so I'm packing as much in as possible. But that seems like a sufficient amount of time,eh? Regardless, I'm so excited and giddy!
What is your location? Massachusetts Comments: Nicketynick, you are so lucky to be able to go to London next spring. Wouldn't that be great to somehow catch a glimpse of Alan perhaps shoppping or wandering around somewhere else by accident?? When I was over there years ago, I visisted Madame Tussauds Wax Museum (not sure if its still there-the English ladies here can tell you) but it is worth a look. They had the Beatles in Wax and I thought I could see them breathing that is how realistic they looked. Anyone know if they made an AR wax figure?? How cool would that be. Anyway, off to pick up my son soon-have a fun afternoon Pam
What is your location? GA Comments: Claudia- Quite right my dear. Hadn't thought of that.
What is your location? GA Comments: Hey all!!!!
Belated congrats Hikity! Girl.....you got it going! Its an amazing feat to do all you do and still make such good grades!
Just fair warning to the very few posters that insist on posting negative comments. I will be watching a little more consistantly now and I will delete the nastiness.
NicketyNick, I deleted your last post not because it was nasty but because it related to the previous nasty post. So since I deleted nasty, I thought you might want me to delete it as well.
Have fun ladies and gents(?)! Christmas is a coming...and the goose is getting fat! Santa will be good to all those that have been good all through the year!
What is your location? GA Comments: Thanks girls! I'm a minimalist, so I hate carrying loads of crap to begin with. Hikity- That would be a blast! I've 2 places I'm trying to decide between as far as accommodation. One is a private apartment. Take a wild guess where it's located.
Comments: Nicketynick, I've never heard of any problems in any part of England including London. So just don't worry. You wouldn't carry all your jewellery and money and gold bars with you, would you? Contact me if you like! April is usually a time where I go to London, too. May be we can meet.
What is your location? Los Angeles Comments: NicketyNick - like any big city, it's a matter of just knowing which areas to avoid. I imagine the majority of the city where a tourist would normally be is relatively safe. The are many websites that give advice. Here is just one http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g186338-i17-k375731-Dangerous_areas_to_avoid_in_london-London_England.html">example. But just googling "places to avoid in london" will give you a lot of websites and forums where people post their travel experiences and advice. Have fun!! (Wish I were going
What is your location? GA Comments: MrsDoylesCat- Thank you so much dear! I was curious about the weather. So, it's a bit of everything I guess. Got the shoes covered! Being a nurse, I try to buy the best shoes. Another quick question: My friend in Surrey is meeting me in London to show me around, do a few things with, etc. The rest of the time I'll be on my own. Are the pick-pockets as bad as I'm told? I'm sure I'll be alright walking around by self, right?
Comments: NicketyNick, if you are coming to London in April be prepared for all weather from snow to a mini-heatwave!! Just bring lots of layers, a waterproof and comfy shoes! You can dress how you like for the theatre, you'll find people in jeans and sweatshirts next to people in suits, anything goes really unless you're going to a first night in which case people might dress up more (but not necessarily). Most of the galleries and museums are free now so make the most of them and the London parks should be beautiful in April.
What is your location? GA Comments: Those pics next door are too yummy! I'm so excited about all the news and happenings! I have a question for any of our crazies in the UK- I'm planning my trip to London in April. Any tips on weather, appropriate clothing, etc. I was supposed to have taken this trip months ago, but that was delayed. Also, what's the dress code for theatre? Any ideas, etc. will be much appreciated. Who knows, maybe I'll spot "The Man" on the street!
Comments: You are welcome, Hikity
Comments: Morning... Chris and Pudd, thanks again for your suggestion I gave it a try and alas he was back....we had a nice chat
Comments: Pudd and Chris, on a second thought - give me your phone numbers I am calling...ah, and may be I should think about travelling around Europe
Comments: You don't take me seriously - I can see that - and Alan is too far at the moment being in Canada, BUT the idea is not so far-fetched. I am g0ing to phone his neighbour...
Comments: Or have him phone ME from time to time! Erm..that was so random. It slipped.
What is your location? aka the one confused with all the others Comments: Yeah Chris, poor cousins indeed! Talk to us Hikity! Or phone Alan from time to time
Comments: Quote: Who is going to talk to me in English from now on!!! What are WE, the poor cousins? LOL
Comments: Oh, forgot to answer Chris, yes, we are back. Munich was wonderful as always. I love this beautiful town. Pudd, unfortunately it has already started...I feel dreadful, I miss my courses and my profs and I think I am going to attend a James Joyce class today... Who is going to talk to me in English from now on!!! This is really a disaster. For the last 5 years I have been listening to this wonderful language, I was allowed to talk as much as possible (hihi, better refrain from any comments on this), I read and wrote a lot...folks, I am desparate, honestly
Comments: I am overwhelmed...thanks so much to all of you . You must know my beloved professor was helpless when I looked at him like this and, Vicki, it was far more than 10 points, I am afraid Pudd, I am so sorry - it was MrsDoylesCat who mused about "giving thanks for being delivered safely to your new country" while I always thought it's about the harvest...And I was joking of course about the "thanks for leaving" in compliance with MDC's "We just waved you off at the docks!!!" I know I have a bad humour from time to time - this is simply because I have been living on this planet for quite a long time already...and, Pudd, it must be your fate that some here tend to take you for somebody else. Please forgive me for joining the group - I promise I am leaving it immediately.
What is your location? Massachusetts Comments: Nicketynick-hear hear-drinks all around- ll have some Baileys please ro drink to Hikitys great fortune-anyone else??

Comments: CONGRATS HIKITY!! Freut mich, dass du's geschafft hast
Comments: Congrats Hikity!!! Finally you are freeeeeeeee! But take care, it can be strange not having to study around the clock any more. By the way, what do you mean "a thanksgiving for leaving"? My synapses are not working well any more I think. Have I ever asked someone to leave? Openly? I thought I was Miss Diplomatic...
What is your location? Los Angeles Comments: Hikity (and Brian) - LOL! Happy to be of help.....congratulations, your hard work paid off!
The professors has awarded you 10 points for outstanding exam results.

What is your location? Massachusetts Comments: OMG-is it true guys??? Alan Rickman and Johnny Depp together in a film??? oh heart be still-- Tomorrow we are putting up the Christmas Tree. I bought the wreaths with their pretty red bows to hang in my three front windows on the front of the house. We had a major wind/rain storm today so decided to wait until tomorrow to hang them up. We also put up a small tree in a window over our living room door. Its really pretty when its lit up at night. the christmas service is also a nice one with the hanging of the greens etc. Saturday night we also light up the church christmas tree followed by a potluck supper and then go down to the town common where the lights are officially turned on there with the arrival of Santa via firetruck-the little kids love it when he arrives. Anyway-have a fun Christmasy weekend all-have a good one shopping and decorating

To shorten the time until Christmas I made an Advent calendar with wallpapers. And it is a very special one, because Alan will pop up from time to time.
